Chief Environment Officer – 12 Positions
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental Science Studies or any other related degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
- A master’s degree Environmental Planning and Management/ Environmental Science Studies is an added advantage;
- Must be a registered Lead/Associate Expert with relevant bodies;
- Thorough understanding of Environmental Laws and Regulations;
- Ability to conduct research, organize and present information, write and compile analytical reports for presentation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must satisfy the requirement of chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution.
Job Description
- Co-ordinates all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, climate change, conservation and renewable energy to ensure compliance with Environmental legislation;
- Preparation of Sub-County Work Plans for all environmental activities and supervision of their implementation;
- Collaborating with community and other stakeholders in environmental conservation activities;
- Documenting and promoting best environmental practices;
- Periodic preparation and submission of Environmental Progress Reports;
- Facilitation and promotion of Citizen Participation in management of environmental affairs;
- Assisting the Sub-County Administrator and liaising with other Government officers in developing strategies for better environmental service delivery;
- Ensuring compliance and enforcement of Environmental Regulations within the Sub County;
- Assisting the Sub-County Administrator and liaising with other county government officers in developing strategies for better environmental service delivery;
- Developing and updating Sub-County Environmental Databases;
- Mobilizing the public to participate in environmental conservation, landscaping and management activities within the Sub-County including liaising with NGOs;
- Conducting environmental education and public awareness on environmental issues at the County/Sub-County level;
- Identifying areas of Environmental concerns and ensuring they are sufficiently addressed and incorporated in Environmental management plans;
- Supervising the Ward Environment officers;
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Director Environment and Natural Resources.
Environmental Officer – 85 Positions
Job Requirements

Job Description
- Identifying areas of Environmental concerns at the ward level and ensuring they are sufficiently addressed and incorporated in Environmental Management Plans;
- Preparation of Ward Work Plans for all environmental activities and supervision of their implementation;
- Collaborating with community and other stakeholders in environmental conservation activities at Ward level;
- Documenting and promoting best environmental practices at Ward level;

Job Requirements
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its approved equivalent;
- Possess a Certificate in any of the following fields; business administration, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Kenya accounts technician certificate or any other approved equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
- Demonstrate outstanding professional competence and integrity in work performance and be result oriented;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must satisfy the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Kenyan Constitution.
Job Description
- Perform clerical duties to ensure smooth functioning of the sector;
- Compiling statistical records and maintaining an efficient filing system;
- Sorting, filing and dispatching letters;
- Ensure proper management of office properties and assets;
- Reception desk duties;
- Any other duties assigned from time to time by your supervisor.
Labourer I – 300 Positions

- Street and other open spaces sweeping;
- Litter picking and unclogging of drainages;
- Solid waste removal, loading and attending to the final disposal site;
- Grass slashing/cutting and fence trimming;
- Tree planting and beautification activities;
- Landscaping works and river regeneration activities;
- Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your supervisor.
