Program Intern
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for general program administration. The Intern will support project teams in the administration and implementation of projects.
Responsibility
- Providing technical support across all programs, including processing of recurring project payments, and supporting the logistics officer in programmatic procurements.
- To contribute to the development of project PMEAL plans, including monitoring tools.
- To regularly collect and analyze data to monitor the activities as per the PMEAL plan.
- Support in development of quarterly program work plans, and project visit itineraries.
- Support in collection of case study raw data from beneficiaries for compilation by program staff.
- To assist in writing quarterly narrative reports for SI Kenya
- Support in collating monthly budget versus expenditure reports.
- Lead the analysis of CHV and nurses screening data to be shared monthly.
- Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in any relevant field
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and collaboration skills.
- Creative, resourceful and eager to learn.
- Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues
- Knowledge of sign language is an added advantage but not essential
Program Accounts Intern
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting accounting teams with various accounting projects and tasks in line with the Finance Policies.
Responsibility
- Shadowing the finance team in performance of duties
- Assist in maintaining of records accurately
- Recording and maintaining up to date assets and inventory registers
- Assist in audit preparations
- Support in petty cash management
- Ensuring that timesheets are correctly filled and filed on a timely manner
- Taking on additional finance and administration tasks as required to learn more about accounting and finance operations
- Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in any relevant field
- ACCA or CPA
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and collaboration skills.
- Creative, resourceful and eager to learn.
- Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues
- Knowledge of sign language is an added advantage but not essential
IT Intern
Job Purpose
The IT Intern will be in charge of setting up, managing and troubleshooting technological systems to maintain computer and software networks. This will include responding to hardware problems, updating system software and tracking the data and communications used within the network.
Responsibility
- Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions.
- Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
- Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
- Identify and report system issues to vendors. Monitor and test resolution of those issues sent to vendors.
- Monitor antivirus software and updates and repair computers infected with spyware or viruses.
- Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security.
- Record activities, solutions and other responses to request for service.
- Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
- Perform research and evaluate products to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment and installation or upgrade of systems.
- Assist users in determining appropriate software solutions to meet needs.
- Develop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use.
- Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access point.
- Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in any relevant field
- A basic understanding of computer network cabling and network file and print services.
- Basic understanding of computers and networks
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Experience with network administration or troubleshooting
- Experience with database management
- Proficiency in computer applications especially MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and collaboration skills.
- Creative, resourceful and eager to learn.
- Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues
- Experience with coding languages, such as Java, HTML, CSS, etc, an added advantage.
