Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide input into the development of the category sales and profitability strategies to align the category operations with the company growth objectives
  • Provide input into the development of the pricing strategy to achieve desired company indices within the set pricing budget.
  • Develop the sales budget for the category to ensure the timely allocation of resources required for the successful implementation of the sales strategy
  • Develop a sales pipeline for products to align with the company’s Sales and Profitability targets
  • Develop and implement the sales plans to support the profitability and sales objectives as captured in the sales strategy
  • Observe the regulations both internal and external, especially those that relate to the assigned category to ensure zero compliance risk exposure to the business
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the category marketing strategy, to ensure compliance with the category planogram and successful promotional campaigns
  • Develop sales reports as per the company sales reporting templates to ensure timely submission of quality reports that influence decision making
  • Attend to escalated complex customer complaints & operational issues in a manner that aligns with the Company’s customer promise

  • Undertake competitor research activities to garner data that will influence the competitiveness of the Company’s sales strategy
  • Actively communicate key changes in processes and initiatives that touch on customers, to ensure all orders are delivered as plan
  • Manage the supplier life journey from listing to delisting to ensure the supplier–client relationships support the achievement of the company’s business objectives
  • Manage the product life journey process from listing to delisting to ensure delivery against customer expectations
  • Advocate for consumer protection rights to ensure the Company policies, processes and procedures are cognizant of the customer’s reality
  • Undertake regular category assessments to advise on any changes to the product portfolio in the assigned category, in alignment with the company business objectives

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field
  • 4+ years of experience in category buying and management in the retail set up
  • Experience working in the retail chain managing supplier relationships
