Qualification
Education, Skills and Experience
- Diploma in Transport Management or Logistics.
- Driving license BCE or its equivalent with 5 years’ experience as a Driver or at a comparable position and a valid certificate of good conduct
Duties and responsibilities:
- Implementations of transport policy as approved by the university management.
- Proposing improvement in the existing transport system.
- Ensuring the proper inventory of all components of vehicles are maintained checked frequently.
- Ensuring that the maintenance, oiling and servicing schedule of vehicle followed.
- Keeping records and /or history of drivers and accidents.
- Maintaining duty rosters of drivers and mechanics.
- Arranging for retraining and re-certification of drivers and registration and certification of vehicles.
- Submitting regular and comprehensive reports to the transport manager.
- Ensuring safe parking of vehicles at the university.
- Coordinating the schedule for major and periodic vehicle maintenance management and staff to minimize service interruptions.
- Monitoring and controlling the pick-ups and delivering of students as per the route and schedule.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the transport manager.
