Our client in the renewable energy solutions in Nairobi is looking to fill the Project Manager role in the company; the role reports to the General Manager.
The person will be responsible for planning and supervising solar projects from start to completion, ensuring maximum efficiency in the implementation of detailed project plans, keeping track of goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs, and contingencies. This role underwrites the quality of work, and for keeping a project on time and on budget.
Responsibilities:
Provide –end to end- Project Management for solar installations and maintenance jobs
Collaborate with engineers to determine the specifications of the projects
Determine needed resources (Manpower, equipment’s and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitation.
Develop a detailed plan and monitor progress.
Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
Acquire equipment and materials and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
Collaborate with field teams to develop and implement projects.
Plan all installations operation and schedule intermediate phases ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met.
Communicate with the team and ensure all members are on board with delegated tasks.
Seek opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects.
Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Potential clients utility bill analysis to determine optimal solar sizing
Support in the preparation of client proposals for commercial and technical specifications.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering.
Over 7 years’ experience in Solar Energy project management and 5 Years being in senior Level.
Solar project knowledge from site survey to preparing techno commercial proposals.
Project management skills including project execution and supervision.
Solar System Monitoring.
Excellent communication & presentation skills.
Entrepreneurial skills with the ability to take initiative.
Persuasiveness and Strategic Thinking.
