Job Purpose

The Job holder will ensure that all the housekeeping activities of the hospital are of the highest standards and that the hospital and its environment in kept clean and safe for both patient and staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize contaminate clothing, linen, and other materials while following OSHA guidelines.
• Clean bathroom area, including mirrors, sinks, toilets, urinals, and floor.
• Assist nurses with patients and when slow work as a float nurse aide going to different units throughout the hospital.
• Examine laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
• Operate equipment and follow instructions according OSHA regulations.
• Monitor feeder information on washers and dryers to ensure proper operation.
• Operate washers and dryers according to recommend capacity and other manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Communicate with residents on a daily basis and build relationships and foster caring and compassion in day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications

• Be holder of a craft in laundry or related course from a recognized training institute in Kenya.
• Experience in hospital cleaning services
• Proven work experience as a Laundry Attendant or similar role  Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment   Ability to stand for long periods. 
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
