Vacancy: Finance & Administration Officer

Our client, a kenyan NGO is looking for a Finance and Administration Officer.

The individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the financial and administrative functions of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Have financial oversight over the implementation of programs and projects Prepare donor budgets, donor reports and internal budgetsEnsure compliance with donor rules and regulations Monitor budget utilization and compliance with the work plan and grant agreementsServe as the key liaison on finance-related matters ( internally and externally)Employ cost management mechanisms and proceduresEnsure compliance and consistency with the company policies and procedures Maintain proper accounting documents, financial statements and recordsPrepare and submit financial reports to the board in a timely mannerProcess payroll, prepare and remit statutory deductionsPrepare payments, monthly bank reconciliations and other account entriesResponsible for asset managementActively support and be involved in the audit processEnsure compliance with contractual obligationsResponsible for the operational and financial management of projectsProvide advanced administrative support to the OrganizationOversee the administration of the HR function.

Required Specifications

  1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing donor-funded projectsA Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting or equivalentCPA/ACCA II Qualification Experience with Quick books and any other multi-accounting softwareExperience in the NGO sector will be an advantageExperience in administration, procurement and grants managementAttention to detail, with strong analytical and reporting skillsAdvanced working knowledge of Excel spreadsheetsExcellent oral and written communication skills Must have excellent planning, and organization skills.
