REPORTING TO THE FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Overall purpose: The primary role of the Senior Accountant is to support with the production of periodic financial reports as well as lead projects and develop processes that improve the overall quality of financial reports.
Responsibility
1. Filing of statutory returns, that is, Value Added Tax return, Vat withholding and withholding tax, and Standard Levy. In addition, initiating Vat refund requests to Kenya Revenue Authority
2. Bank Reconciliation and Reconciliation of the general ledgers and ensuring the accuracy of the same
3. Assisting in the preparation of the financial statement
4. Reviewing and verification of payment vouchers and petty cash vouchers
5. Perform detailed and regular checks of the general ledger entries to ensure correct posting and classification of transactions across departments, cost centers, and spending codes.
6. Collating and analyzing financial data and reports from various departments to assist in tracking and reporting on relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
7. Support the preparation and review of the annual budget and monthly budget tracking and reporting of actual versus budget performance.
8. Participate in identifying reporting needs for various departments and developing effective reporting structures to respond to those needs.
9. Ensure compliance with internal controls relating to financial reporting, accounting policies, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
10. Assist in internal audits
11. Stock verification and variance analysis.
Qualifications & Desired Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any business-related field
• Professional qualification in Finance such as CPA or ACCA.
• At least 5 years experience in a finance-related role.

• A demonstrated commitment to professionalism, a strong work ethic, high standards & integrity.
• Experience in FMCG, agribusiness, or the horticulture industry will be an added advantage.
