About The Role

Burn is looking for an IT Officer who will be responsible for carrying out specific tasks – as defined by the Senior IT Officer.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Administration of the active directory – Creating, and modifying user accounts, groups, computer accounts, organizational units (OUs), and other objects in the directory service database.
  • Administration of office 365 platform – SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, PowerApps
  • Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
  • Diagnosing and fixing problems or potential problems within the network and its hardware, software, and computer systems.
  • Assist in maintaining IT inventory for all IT assets within the organization and conducting regular preventive maintenance on all IT assets and logging the same.
  • Preparing regular reports on IT support issues, maintenance logs, and any other relevant report that may be asked by the supervisor.
  • Configuring hardware and software, setting up peripherals such as printers or routers, repairing equipment, and providing daily support for computer network users.
  • Monitoring network, firewall, and computer systems to ensure 99.9% uptime, security & improved performance.
  • Provide user support in setting up & conducting end-user training for all relevant IT platforms.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or IT-related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a fast-paced IT support environment
  • Experience in Office 365 – PowerApps, Flow.
  • In-depth knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Experience with computer networks – Network analysis, design, Subnetting, IP Addressing, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of DBMS systems such as Microsoft SQL, and MYSQL.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing. AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Servers, and Linux.
  • Programming experience. Preferred language Python.
  • Certification in CCNA, and Office 365, will be an added advantage.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards
  • Willingness to learn on the job, ability to prioritize tasks, and efficiently manage time.
  • Availability to work occasional after-hours and weekends for IT-related projects.
  • Ability to maintain open communication & positive working relationship with staff.
