About the role

BURN is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician who will work closely with the manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring production lines are well maintained and to the latest standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with manufacturing engineers, carry out fabrication of production line fixtures to continually improve working conditions.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers in milling, lathe machining, laser cutting & water jet cutting works.
  • Assemble jigs & fixtures to designated workstations and monitor process ergonomics that will deliver desired results.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers in setting up new production lines, testing process flow, and positioning hand tools.
  • Conduct functionality tests on designed jigs & fixtures and carry out adjustments to ensure ease of operation and efficiency.
  • Train operators on interpreting work instructions
  • Design simple AutoCAD drawings
  • Maintain manufacturing engineering workshop, tools, and consumables stock.
  • Install compressed air branches from the main grid to feed to new needs.
  • Assemble prefabricated work enclosures e.g powder booths, cyclones, scrubbers, etc

Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in arc welding and use of hand tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to use lathe &milling machines
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Experience in production line set-up
  • Ability to keep track of tools & consumables
  • Proficiency in spoken English
  • Proficiency in compressed air installation
