About the role
BURN is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician who will work closely with the manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring production lines are well maintained and to the latest standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with manufacturing engineers, carry out fabrication of production line fixtures to continually improve working conditions.
- Assist manufacturing engineers in milling, lathe machining, laser cutting & water jet cutting works.
- Assemble jigs & fixtures to designated workstations and monitor process ergonomics that will deliver desired results.
- Assist manufacturing engineers in setting up new production lines, testing process flow, and positioning hand tools.
- Conduct functionality tests on designed jigs & fixtures and carry out adjustments to ensure ease of operation and efficiency.
- Train operators on interpreting work instructions
- Design simple AutoCAD drawings
- Maintain manufacturing engineering workshop, tools, and consumables stock.
- Install compressed air branches from the main grid to feed to new needs.
- Assemble prefabricated work enclosures e.g powder booths, cyclones, scrubbers, etc
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in arc welding and use of hand tools
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to use lathe &milling machines
- Ability to use hand tools
- Experience in production line set-up
- Ability to keep track of tools & consumables
- Proficiency in spoken English
- Proficiency in compressed air installation
