1. Position title: Fundraising and Partnerships Officer – Private Sector

    Major function:

    The holder of the position is a member of the Fundraising unit and shall provide support and be involved in the implementation of WWF-Kenya Fundraising Strategy. The approved fundraising streams are; i) Public Sector Partnerships/Government Aid Agencies (PSPs/GAAs), ii) Corporates, iii) Foundations, iv) Major Donors/HNWIs and v) Individual Giving (IG).  The major focus of this role is 60% IG and 40% Corporates.  He/or She will be expected to apply their expertise in fundraising, marketing and communications towards realisation of the Fundraising targets.

    a) Major Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Support in the implementation of the Fundraising Strategy to grow income based on research and knowledge including key performance aspects to strengthen execution.
  2. Support in the development of high quality proposals and reports for prospective donors
  3. Conduct market research, donor scoping and intelligence gathering for the approved fundraising streams to inform the donor/supporter identification and cultivation of relationships 
  4. Implement small sum supporter acquisition, activation and retention strategy.
  5. Support the identification, establishment and roll out of IG platforms (Mobile money, Online giving, and Workplace Giving) and identify and execute other donation channels (email marketing etc).
  6. Support establishment and manage the IG CRM data base and other related donor account management systems, generating and utilizing critical data in donor care, grants management and analysis of respective funding income.
  7. Ensure timely implementation of donor management actions including individual giving identification, recognition, gift processing and donor correspondence.
  8. Strengthen the Panda Club Initiative by leading in the execution of the strategy to build a critical mass of young nature champions both for the in-school and Online platforms; exploring options to maximize on the subscription, acquisition and retention of members
  9. Support the coordination of cause related events and campaign logistics to ensure an exceptional donor experience, with a focus on donor prospecting and retention.
  10. In collaboration with the Fundraising Coordinator – Private Sector, identify targeted corporates for external workplace giving and further explore the partnership potential of strategic corporate engagements
  11. Support in the implementation of the Corporate Engagement strategy to grow income from private sector sources (Corporates, foundations and HNWIs)
  12. In collaboration with the respective focal points, support in the design and development of materials for marketing and fundraising
  13. Support the development and execution of a merchandising strategy to maximize returns from WWF-Kenya supporters internally and externally
  14. Support the promotion of WWF-Kenya brand and visibility through delivery of timely, consistent and high value communications.
  15. Support in the documentation and knowledge management of key fundraising  information and resources 
  16. Supervise the fundraising Assistants and be the liaison between the Fundraising and Communications on all issues related to content development for fundraising appeals, social media conversions and calendar updates

b) Key Qualifications

The prospective candidate should possess the following:-

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized University, a Master’s Degree is desirable;
  2. Satisfactorily served as fundraising/ resource mobilization officer  or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like-minded organizations for a minimum period of five (5) years; and
  3. Demonstrated in-depth understanding of programming issues, resource mobilization including supporter marketing, product development, marketing channels, supporter acquisition and retention, donor care.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Private sector engagements (Individual Giving, Corporates, Foundations and HNWI) in the Kenya market
  5. Working knowledge of IT and data management experience.
  6. Demonstrable experience of raising funds from local sponsors and supporters; and
  7. Strong understanding of project management and donor database management (CRM set up for Individual giving)
  8. Detailed, hands-on knowledge on developing, implementing and overseeing B2C and B2B donor journeys

c) Key Competencies

  1. Good conceptual, analytical, writing and presentation.
  2. Ability to identify, influence, negotiate and close deals with internal and external partners.
  3. Experience of managing small sum giving and donor management.
  4. Understanding of the different donor requirements and management of donor relationships, donor care and donor communication.
  5. Excellent communications, public relations and marketing skills;
  6. High level of IT proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, and e-mail;
  7. Excellent, results-driven, solution-oriented team player.

d) Working Relationships:

  1. Internal:  Interacts regularly with the WWF-Kenya Fundraising team members, the programme teams, OD teams and counterpart staff from WWF Network  
  2. External: Interacts with all types of Private Sector donors, supporters and the general public. Fundraising consultants and other suppliers as required.

2.Position title: I.T Officer

Mission of the unit:
To make Information Technology a value driver so as to support and enhance the strategic direction of the organization.
To promote and support the organizations effective use of Information Technology.
Major Function:
Provide prompt and knowledgeable IT user support, IT equipment support, Systems support, troubleshoot problems, implement solutions, improve the efficiency of IT resource use, promote user awareness and train users in the use of IT resources.
Major duties and responsibilities
IT Equipment support

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.

Virtual meeting support

  • Support and train all staff members for easier access to all virtual meeting rooms (zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts) and meeting rooms.

User support

  • Support user devices, applications and accounts, either face-to-face/over the phone/ Remote Desktop platforms to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults

Maintenance

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades.

IT Assets management

  • Maintain up to date documentation of hardware assets and/or software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools.
  • Maintain IT asset register database.
  • Receive all IT assets purchased and confirm if they are in line with specifications.
  • Identify IT assets for disposal.

Data Collection and analysis support

  • Support the GIS, M&E and Programmes in data collection, store and analysis.

Systems/Database support

  • Support the roll-out of new applications and set up new user accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
  • Identify, test and evaluate new technology.
  • Windows server administration including active directory and windows server update services.
  • Support all WWF-Kenya systems including the COE.
  • Administration, upgrade and backup/restore of WWF-Kenya systems databases.
  • Support in SAP ERP administration and management.

Security

  • Identify security gaps and provide relevant solutions in consultation with the IT Coordinator.
  • Escalate security concerns.

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, I.T or any other related field;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a busy IT environment;
  • A minimum of 2 years proven working experience in SAP or Microsoft Dynamics administration.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software.
  • Proven knowledge of CISCO networking environment, databases and windows server.
  • Excellent knowledge of Virtual meeting platforms including zoom and skype.
  • Excellent knowledge of databases

Key Skills/Competencies
·       Personal characteristics required:  strong communications skills with a dedicated customer service orientation; self-starter and problem-solver with previous experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other technical staff, vendors and users.
