About the Role
The Senior Associate – Audit, MEC, Reporting & Tax will offer analytical support to the MEC team, by leading all Balance sheet account reconciliations necessary for management accounts processing as well as for audit purposes (Both internal & external).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare Inter-company billing and reconciliation schedules
- Maintaining audit schedules and ensuring they are submitted to auditors on request
- Monthly VAT and other tax filings
- Inventory management – managing stock counts and inventory valuation in the system.
- Maintain the fixed assets register and physical verification of fixed Assets
- Prepare ledger reconciliations and other month-end close procedures
- Analyze ledger accounts and prepare summary reports on cause of the variances month on month
- Review Internal Controls and propose improvements
- Assist Manager in conducting internal audits of accounting processes and adherence to procedures
- Other ad hoc tasks as may be called upon
Qualifications
- BCOM degree (Accounting,Finance)
- A minimum of CPA 2 or it’s equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience in a busy Accounting/Audit environment
- Tax Experience: WTAX and VAT
- Advanced excel knowledge a MUST
- Be an excellent team player/collaborator with excellent communication skills
- Have demonstrated the ability to act decisively and resolve problems
