A Regional Tier 1 Bank in Kenya is recruiting a Head of Human Resources (Kenya) at Associate Director Level. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of HR will support the delivery of HR critical success factors initiatives within the Bank to help the business achieve its strategies and objectives. This is a high-level strategic role with a very competitive package.
The Role Summary
Strategy
Provides HR strategy and leadership that covers all facets of human resource management; Advises the MD, Kenya and other Managers on appropriate human resources management policies and strategies; Oversee the design, development, implementation and evaluation of HR strategic plan and align this plan with the Strategic plan.
Tactical
Develop and maintain the human resources policies of the Bank.
Maintain an up-to-date framework of policies and procedures that enable the business to employ, engage, develop and manage its people in accordance with the core values and within Kenyan labor laws.
Advise Management Team on HR developments and ensure that managers and staff understand, and access HR policies and procedure as demanded by their roles and responsibilities.
Operations
Formulate and ensure implementation of leading practice strategies on human resource planning, talent sourcing, development, performance and career management, employee relations, reward, organizational development and change management.
Provide advisory and support services to line managers in administering staff policies, disciplinary issues, conflict resolution, grievance handling, and other people management matters.
Profile
-Undergraduate degree in business-related field/social sciences
– Post-graduate qualifications are an added advantage
– Professional qualifications in HR from a recognized professional body
– Full Member of IHRM or Membership to other appropriate relevant professional body and in good standing
– Minimum 15 years experience in HR Generalist role in a medium to large sized organization at a senior level.
– Financial services, Banking and Technology industry experience will be preferred.
– In-depth understanding of labour legislation in Kenya and sub-Saharan Africa.
– Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
– A Strategic thinker with problem-solving ability; Sound advisory capability; Excellent analytical and reporting skills; Strong persuasion and negotiation skills; Strong business acumen/business orientation; Good customer relationship management skills (internal and external customers) and ability to drive culture, teams, and results.
