Reporting to Officer Yard Operations, the job holder will be responsible for the effective operation of the top loader machine.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily routine checkup of the machine: engine oil, hydraulic oil, water level.
- Offloading and loading of container cargo as per yard plan.
- Reporting normal/major service when due.
- Reporting any machine defects.
- Minimize running and maintenance costs of the top loader machine.
- Observe safety measures when using the machine to avoid accidents.
- Ensure compliance to quality and food safety sector requirements.
- Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge and Skills Required:
The Job holder must possess the following;
- KCSE holder
- Valid Top loader driver’s certificate from a reputable institution.
- Valid Driving license BCEI (Forklift)
- Minimum of three (3) continuous years of experience in a busy container freight station operations
- Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
- Must demonstrate ability to execute work assigned with minimum supervision
- Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
- Should have the ability to solve problems by applying relevant knowledge
- Must have the ability to communicate in both written and oral communication
- Must be able to work under pressure
