Bamburi Cement Plc is looking to employ a Category Manager to join our Kenya Procurement Team. The role reports to the Head of Procurement.
The opportunity at a glance
This position implements the Country Procurement strategies for equipment, spares, and operations/MRO in close cooperation with global and regional category management teams. The role manages the procurement of local goods and services for the assigned categories and will be based in Mombasa.

This job may be for you if you have:
- A university degree in a Technical field. An advanced degree will be an added advantage.
- Professional Procurement qualification is highly preferred
- Minimum 2 – 3 years in procurement category management and sourcing, specifically in the areas of equipment, spares, and maintenance /MRO. Experience in the sourcing of mining services will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated performance in implementing Category initiatives in local operations.
- Demonstrated ability to track the progress of cost reduction initiatives drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits agenda is successfully delivered
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing industry and products.
- Application of TCO concepts.
- Working knowledge of materials and service specifications.
- Business Acumen: Commercial law and financial understanding
